About La Vita

Portrait of the guys

Born into the Taylor Street “Little Italy” tradition, La Vita’s owners are three young guys from the neighborhood, Mickey Carioscia, Joe DeVito and Michael Garcia, who had big ideas to combine that tradition with sophisticated contemporary dining and decor. La Vita offers “Little Italy” neighborhood charm with world-class Northern Italian cuisine and a modern European ambiance for today’s sophisticated diner.

This inviting room welcomes guests with modern décor and intimate lighting. La Vita’s bar and dining room are accented with sexy curves, polished chrome, and fanciful light fixtures. The design does not compromise comfort, using warm woods and deep purple fabrics. The beautiful rooftop patio gives diners a romantic setting under the sun or stars. The exposed kitchen showcases their creative cuisine and gives the diner a more personal experience with the chefs. Some of the Chef’s signature dishes include the Calamari Alla Griglia, grilled calamari served with a zesty white wine sauce; Fettuccine Salmone, tri-color fettuccine tossed in a light tomato cream sauce, with fresh Norwegian salmon; Risotto Quattro Formaggi with spinach and grilled chicken; and the Pesce Al Forno, Chilean Sea Bass sautéed in white wine sauce with cherry tomatoes & spinach. People of all ages frequent La Vita not only for fine dining but are also drawn to the lively bar for socializing, conversation and late night noshing on the weekends. “We have a strong early evening and late night crowd at our bar,” says partner Mickey Carioscia. “Guests utilize it as a gathering destination before and after sporting events, the theatre and of course, dinner at La Vita.”
